It's cold

Remember that old navy commercial with the girl walking down the street whistling to herself without a care in the world? Suddenly the camera zooms in on her face, similar to a horror movie and she begins to scream and freak out pointing at the sidewalk floor in stupified terror. There on the floor is the...first autumn leave! I came into a similar situation this evening upon my first sight of the colored foliage at my feet. I was able to control myself a little better then that though. I won't lie. I was still pretty panicked. This is when I run inside my house, pull out all the fleece sweaters I can find and cacoon myself in a self made shell. "The cold ain't got nothing on me!" I shout, looking like a cross of the Michlen tire man and a kid in on of those blow up Sumo Wrestler suits. These are the days I wish I had a fireplace. Not one of those stupid fake ones either. I remember when I first saw someone pop in a videocassette around Christmas time labeled "Xmas Ambiance". My first thought of course was "What kind of wierd Christmas special have I been missing out on all these years?" The Christmas special of let's-sit-infront-of-a-television-set-for-six-hours-and-watch-a-movie-of-a-fire-burning! *sigh* I guess you do with the best you can but damn...as Tina once said "God! Don't you have any dignity???"
