Backstreet's Back
I was a 14 year old over again. Giggling and screaming in excitment. Shreaking with delight because, yes, the backstreet boys came back to town. Like many others who love the backstreet boys, or just wanted to re-live the excitment over for memories sake I lined up at 7:00am and bought a 70 dollar ticket that would ensure my seat at the show of 5 30 some odd year boy band that had tickled my ears and eyes since I was in grade 3.
Upon arriving at the bell center, my friends and I were in a furry looking for a seat before the entertainment started. Sure, there was some girl singing some random songs. No one was really listening to her though. Perhaps humoring her, but not accually listening to her. When she left the stage, the entire stad began to chant the familiar name "Back-street-boys". The lights dimmed and everyone screamed in anticipation. Imagine or dissapointment when a band called "The Click Five" was reveiled behind a bed sheet that had been hanging on stage. 5 guys all wearing tight suits and singing pop-punk songs. My friends and I groaned but recognized a song that they sung and thought it was a cover (WRONG!). When they left there was a fifteen minute pause, the consisted of quite a few rounds of the wave, much chanting, screaming and general excitment.
Finally, the lights dimmed, the entire stad errupted in screams, and down a flight of lit stairs, 5 dark figures came down the stairs slowly to the beat of a strange backstreet boys medly. Then they unexpectadly started off with "the call". After a few songs one of the major questions were answered "Are they going to dance?" and they did! AAAHHH....
There were quite a few alughs like Brian asking if some people who were there were even born when they started. There was also a dancing heart, the click running on stage dressed in 80s clothing, nick fighting for attention over AJ. (pfff....who can compete with AJ?...really!) When I left I was content and I bought a T-shirt.
Good Times...
They'll be back and when they do guess where I'm going...
